Legionnaires, members and guest,
It is my honor to serve as the newly elected Commander of Nocha White American Legion Post 503 here in beautiful Calabash, NC. Our Post has outstanding volunteers serving in
officer and board positions as Legionnaires, Sons of The American Legion and the American Legion Auxiliary, staffing our kitchen and canteen and regularly handling a variety
of other events here at the Post. I look forward to working with each of these groups as we
continue to serve our veterans and community.
Our foundation as a Post happened because of the years of hard and dedicated work of our
leadership and membership. Those serving before us and currently have strengthened our
Post to be capable in continuing our daily mission. I want to extend a heartfelt "Thank you" to our out-going Commander, Chuck Good, for his years of selfless service and devotion to the Post for the past nine years. He has left us a solid foundation to build off of and this Post is forever grateful.
If you are new to the Legion family, look around you. You can see our presence throughout the year in our local and surrounding community. Our members continually participate in
distributing flags and Wreaths Across America at nearby cemeteries, Poppy distribution, youth programs at local high schools (Junior ROTC, Boys / Girls State, NC Trooper
program), food and clothing donations as well as a variety of ceremonies throughout the
year promoting our veterans and our country. We are honored to support a variety of Veteran-directed charities as well as community events.
As Commander, my commitment is to lead with respect, integrity, and an open door. I look forward to listening, learning, and working with all of you to ensure that Post 503 remains a place of fellowship, service, and pride for generations to come.
Thank you for your service, your support, and your continued dedication to our veterans, our community, and our nation. I am honored to serve as your Commander, and I look forward to the journey ahead.
Fraternally,
Brian Phelps
